Insert the pivot pin of stitch length regulating knob " 12 " into the
hole in the arm so that the end of this pin is protruding slightly
inside of the arm casting. Slip first onto the pin of the stitch length
regulating knob, which protrudes inside of the arm, the flat
washer
" 16 ", and then the two spring washers " 14 " must be positioned
as shown in Fig. 77.
The bushing " 9 " which was previously on the pin end " 13 ",
must now be moved along said pin until its opposite end is
slipped onto the protruding pivot pin of the stitch length regulat
ing knob " 12 ". The bushing " 9 " must be positioned as shown
in Fig. 77.
Adjust the friction of the stitch length regulating knob as explain
ed in Chapter: "Adjustment of the friction of the stitch ".
Check the timing of the regulating shaft as explained in Chapter:
" Timing of the regulating shaft for the stitch length regulating
knob ".
