When a SIMM (or NVSIMM) fails during the power on self-tests (POST), the
SIMM location number (also known as J or U-number) and system board card
cage slot number are displayed on the TTY terminal and saved in
/usr/adm/<filename> messages.
Note – Jumpers are set at the factory and should not be changed except for use
with factory diagnostic equipment and software.
Use Table A-2 and Figure A-2 to verify that jumper settings are correct. Pin 1 of
each location is identified by a square solder pad.

Connects +12V to RS232 line driver. (Pin 1 = ground, pin 2 = line
driver input, pin 3 = +12 V supply.) Used to power the RS232 ports.

Connects –12V to RS232 line driver. (Pin 1 = ground, pin 2 = line driver
input, pin 3 = –12 V supply.) Used to power the RS232 ports.
