Overview
of Wheelchair tie-down Information – for the daily use of wheelchairs, mobility bases with
seating systems or buggies (hereinafter referred to as wheelchair) for transportation in motor vehicles.
Please read the Instructions for Use Manual carefully before using the wheelchair for transportation in
vehicles for the first time.

1) Place the wheelchair just about centrally between
the anchoring tracks in the vehicle floor with the
user sitting in forward facing direction. If possible,
turn the front wheels in a forward facing direction.
2) Attach the two tie-down straps to the anchor
bracket points marked on the wheelchair. Ensur-
ing that the tie-down straps are attached at a
maximum angle of 60°, as indicated in the safety
instructions.
3) Now attach the two rear tie-down straps to the
anchor bracket points marked on the wheelchair.
Ensuring that the tie-down straps are this time at-
tached at a maximum angle of 45°, as indicated
in the safety instructions.
4) To fully secure the wheelchair to the vehicle tighten
the tie-down straps in accordance with the belt
manufacturer's instructions. NB: Any loose or
removable parts/ accessories must be separately
secured in the motor vehicle.
5) Ensure the wheelchair occupant is in an almost
upright position. Then attach the pelvic belt to the
left and right anchoring points on the wheelchair
and adjust the belt tension. Be careful to observe
the safety instructions regarding, the incorrect
placement of the belt restraints:- „The Restraints
should not be held away from the body by any
wheelchair components."
6) Connect the shoulder belt to the pelvic belt and adjust
the belt tension to the patient. Be careful to observe
the safety instructions regarding, the correct place-
ment of the belt restraints:- „The pelvic Restraints
should make full contact across the front of the body
near the junction of the thighs and pelvics."
7) Be careful to observe the product specific instruc-
tions on how to engage the locking mechanism
in products provided with devices for back angle
adjustment and seat tilt.
