Q: How can I identify if my Roben-3 expansion unit is linked or connected to the computer?
A: The LINK UP 0 on the backplane is illuminated solid green. By default, this LINK UP 0 LED should
illuminate / glow every time you connect the Roben expansion chassis to computer via Thunderbolt
connection.
Q: What does it mean when the LEDs for LINK UP SLOT 1, SLOT 2 and SLOT 3 are illuminated?
A: It is an indication that you have all 3 slots populated with PCIE cards. The cards are detected and you
have power going to the cards. If you have only one card installed in slot 1, only LINK UP SLOT 1 LED will
illuminate.
Q: I have three cards installed but the LINK UP SLOT 1, SLOT2 and SLOT 3 LEDs are not illuminated?
A: Either you have a bad Magma expansion board and backplane or the cards are defective.
Q: My cards are no longer being detected. Only two LEDs on the Thunderbolt interface card are
illuminated and one LED on the backplane, what should I do?
A: First, try swapping your Thunderbolt cable with a known good cable. If this fixes the problem, it means
you have a faulty Thunderbolt cable. If it fails to fix the problem, you have either a defective Thunderbolt
interface card or defective backplane. On the other hand, you may be having a problem with your
computer's thunderbolt port. So try another thunderbolt-equipped laptop and see if that works.
Q: My card used to work, after I upgraded my laptops Operating System, my card is no longer functioning
properly, what should I do?
A: Check with the manufacturer of the card, see if that is supported by the new Operating System. If the
card is not supported by the new Operating System, it will definitely fail. You should either replace the card
with a new card that is compatible with the Operating System or revert back to the last known Operating
System.
