STARTER SOLENOID TEST
Test starter solenoid as follows:
Disconnect all leads from solenoid terminals.

Use an ohmmeter, set to (R x 1 scale) and con-

nect between solenoid terminals 3 and 4.
Connect a 12-volt supply between solenoid ter-

minals 1 and 2. Solenoid should click and meter
should read zero ohms.
If meter does not read zero ohms (full continuity),

replace solenoid.

worn to less than 1/4 in. (6.4 mm) in length
