18.0 NIBP Calibration Check

NIBP Simulator, dual lumen hose
Equipment
Do This...
18.1 Turn on the Propaq MD unit.
Note: If the unit is in AED mode, press
the Manual quick access key to go into
manual mode.
18.2 Connect a dual lumen hose from the NIBP
simulator to the NIBP port of the Propaq
MD.
18.3 On the Propaq MD unit, do the following
to enter the NIBP Test control panel:
Note: You need a supervisor passcode to
enter the Supervisor menu.
18.4 From the Propaq MD NIBP Test control
panel, use the navigation keys to select:
18.5 Monitor the pressure reported by the
external pressure standard.
18.6 Once the pressure reaches the target
pressure of 50 +/- 5 mmHg, use the
navigation keys to select Turn Pump Off.
18.7 Allow the system to stabilize for at least
10 seconds.
18.8 Verify that the primary transducer agrees
with the reading on the NIBP simulator.
18.9 Verify that the safety transducer agrees
with the reading on the NIBP simulator.
18.10 From the NIBP Test control panel, select
Open Valve to release the pressure.

Use the navigation keys to select
Supervisor>Service>Device
Tests>NIBP Test.
Close Valve
Turn Pump On
Observe This...
Reading should be within 3mmHg.
Reading should be within 4mmHg.
Pass/Fail
