6. Pivot the card latch to the closed position.

Replacing the Wi-Fi card

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
To replace the Wi-Fi card, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 88.
3. Locate the Wi-Fi card. See "Computer components" on page 32.
4. If your computer comes with a Wi-Fi card that supports the Bluetooth function, disconnect the Bluetooth
cable from the Wi-Fi card adapter.
Note: The Bluetooth cable connects the Bluetooth connector on the Wi-Fi card adapter to the system
board.
5. Remove the Wi-Fi card adapter. See "Replacing a PCI Express card" on page 116.
6. Disconnect the front and rear Wi-Fi antenna cables from the Wi-Fi card, and then remove the two screws
that secure the Wi-Fi card. Pull the Wi-Fi card out of the card slot.
