9. Remove the three screws that secure the power supply assembly. Pressing the retaining clip
downward, slide the power supply assembly to the front of the computer and lift it out of the chassis.

10. Position the new power supply assembly in the chassis so that the three screw holes in the power
supply assembly align with those in the chassis. Then, install the three screws to secure the power
supply assembly.
11. Connect the power supply assembly cables to the system board. See "Parts on the system board"
on page 37.
12. Reinstall the heat sink fan duct. See "Replacing the heat sink and fan assembly" on page 123.
13. Pivot the drive bay assembly downward. See "Pivoting the drive bay assembly upward and downward"
on page 93.
14. Reinstall the optical drive. See "Replacing the optical drive" on page 91.
15. Reinstall the front bezel. See "Replacing the front bezel" on page 88.

Replacing the system fan

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
To replace the system fan, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 88.
3. Remove the front bezel. See "Replacing the front bezel" on page 88.
4. Remove the optical drive. See "Replacing the optical drive" on page 91.
5. Pivot the drive bay assembly upward. See "Pivoting the drive bay assembly upward and downward"
on page 93.
