6. Locate the system fan. See "Computer components" on page 32.
7. Disconnect the system fan cable from the system board.
8. The system fan is connected to the chassis by four rubber mounts. Remove the system fan by breaking
or cutting the rubber mounts and gently pulling the system fan out of the chassis.
Note: The new system fan will have four new rubber mounts connected.

9. On the inside of the rear panel, push the four rubber mounts on the new system fan through the
corresponding holes in the chassis. Then, on the outside of the rear panel, pull the tips of the rubber
mounts until the system fan is secured in place.

10. Connect the system fan cable to the system board. See "Parts on the system board" on page 37.
11. Pivot the drive bay assembly downward. See "Pivoting the drive bay assembly upward and downward"
on page 93.
12. Reinstall the optical drive. See "Replacing the optical drive" on page 91.
13. Reinstall the front bezel. See "Replacing the front bezel" on page 88.
