Format Template — the format template is used to build the print
string. The print string is what is printed on documents as they pass
through the transport. If using the front printer, the print string is printed
before the document is scanned, therefore, it is part of the image. If
using the rear printer (i5850 Scanner), the documents are printed after
scanning, therefore, the printing will not be on the image. The maximum
amount of characters for each print string is 40 characters (including
spaces).
You can use the following imprinter format variables when building the
format template.
%S or # = counter
%T = Time
%Y = Date
%% = "%"
NOTE: See the "Imprinter Format table" at the end of this section for
additional formatting options for these variables.
The i5850 Scanner supports the following variables to enable printing in
the Indexing/Image Address fields:
%A = the first element of an image address (e.g., Fixed field)
%B = the second element of an image address (e.g., Level 3)
%C = the third element of an image address (e.g., Level 2)
%D = the fourth element of an image address (e.g., Level 1)
Level — select the level that you want to set up the print string for. You
can set up to 4 different print strings at a time. This option can be used
to prevent printing on patch sheets. For example, to prevent printing on
Patch 2 sheets you should configure a format template for Level 1 and
leave the Level 2 format template blank.
• All Levels: prints on all documents
• Level 1: prints only on Level 1 documents
• Level 2: prints only on Level 2 documents
• Level 3: prints only on Level 3 documents
NOTE: This option is only available when Format is set to Image
Address on the Indexing tab.
