Troubleshooting

Check Point
Check for deformed or damaged capping absorbent material.
Check for damaged Head FFC.
Alternate cleaning and nozzle check several times.
Install a new ink cartridge and perform nozzle check.
Use a tester to check the FFC.
Repeat cleaning several times, then perform nozzle check.
Check to see if FFC is firmly connected to each board and
Carriage Unit.
Check connection of Head FFC to Printhead.
Check to see if Bi-D adjustment has been done properly.
Check for dirt adhering to surface of CR Guide Shaft.
Check for dirt on PF Roller.
Check for damaged PF Roller.
Install a new ink cartridge and test printing.
Check to see if sufficient grease is remaining on carriage slide
parts at back of main frame.
Check to see if platen gap adjustment has been done properly.
Check for abnormality in gears between pump mechanism and
ASF mechanism.
Alternate cleaning and test printing several times.
Check for debris on Cleaner Blade.
Repeat cleaning several times, and then perform test print.
Check to see if CR Guide Shaft is firmly installed in specified
position.
Check for damage on surface of CR Guide Shaft.
Troubleshooting for Printer
Remedy
Clean the Printhead surface with a cotton swab.
Replace the Ink System Assy.
Replace the Head FFC.
If condition does not improve after cleaning, replace the Printhead.
Clean the Printhead surface with a cotton swab.
Replace the ink cartridge.
Replace the Head FFC.
If condition does not improve after cleaning, replace the Printhead.
Connect the FFC firmly.
If there is no problem with the Head FFC to Printhead connection,
replace the Printhead.
Perform Bi-D adjustment.
Clean the surface of the CR Guide Shaft with a soft dry cloth.
Carefully clean the surface of the PF Roller with a soft brush.
Replace the PF Roller.
Replace the ink cartridge.
Clean the main frame carriage slide parts and lubricate with a specified
quantify of G-70. (See
" Lubrication of Carriage Assy"
Adjust platen gap. (See
" PG Adjustment"
Replace the damaged parts.
Clean with a cotton swab.
Clean or replace the Cleaner Blade.
Replace the Printhead.
Reassemble the CR Guide Shaft.
Replace the CR Guide Shaft.
