    Loading Paper Your Stylus Photo RX700 lets you load plain, letter-size paper in the front tray (for everyday printing) and special Epson papers in the rear sheet feeder for photo- quality results.     Epson offers an extensive line of specialty papers that provide outstanding results when used with Epson printers and ink.     The EPSON Print CD software included with your RX700 makes it easy to print CDs and DVDs. Import your own photos, add text, and modify your designs with a variety of special effects. If you’re not using a computer, you can also print photos and designs without text directly onto CDs and DVDs from your RX700.

    Loading a Disk Make sure the data, music, or video is burned on your ink-jet printable CDs or DVDs before you print. Otherwise, dirt or scratches on the surface may cause errors when you burn the data. If you plan to print large numbers of disks, it’s a good idea to print a small sample, then wait a day and check the quality to make sure it is satisfactory.

    Scanning to a Memory Card You can use your Epson Stylus Photo RX700 as a stand-alone scanner to save scans of photos, film, and slides to your memory card. You can also scan to your computer instead of a memory card (see the instructions in your on-screen Reference Guide).

    Removing and Installing Ink Cartridges Follow these steps to replace one or more ink cartridges that are outdated, low on ink, or empty. 1. Open the cartridge covers. 2. Remove the cartridge you need to replace. (Press in to release it, then pull it out of its slot.) Dispose of the cartridge carefully.

    5. Close the cartridge covers. The RX700 begins charging the ink delivery system, and you hear noise during charging. Caution: Never turn off the RX700 during ink charging. This may cause incomplete charging of ink. Checking and Cleaning and Print Head If your printouts are unexpectedly light, colors are missing, or you see light or dark lines across the page, you may need to clean the print head.

    If you don’t see any improvement after cleaning three or four times, check the solutions beginning on page 78. You can also turn the Stylus Photo RX700 off and wait overnight—this allows any dried ink to soften—and then try cleaning the print head again.

    You cancelled software installation or connected the Stylus Photo RX700 before installing the software. Your Epson software may be incorrectly installed. See the on-screen Reference Guide for instructions on uninstalling the software. Make sure you carefully follow the steps on your Start Here sheet when you reinstall your software. You need to connect the RX700 at the correct time in the installation process.
