4.4.12.1 Assembly of Carriage Assy

Lubrication is necessary. Refer to the following section and
lubricate the specified points:
•
Lubrication of Driven Pulley Assy (p.154)
•
Lubrication of Carriage Assy (p.156)
See Figure 4-54 for the orientation of the coned disc spring.
Install the parts by the procedure described below to ensure
that the Sub CR Guide Shaft (front) and Main CR Guide Shaft
(rear) can be moved up and down in parallel with each other to
adjust the platen gap.
1. Apply grease to the specified points.
2. Install the Timing Belt on the Carriage Assy.
3. Install the Driven Pulley Assy, and install the Timing Belt on the CR Motor and Driven
Pulley.
4. Attach the CR Left Scale Plate and install the Carriage Assy.
5. At the left frame of the printer, install the torsion springs (x2).
6. At the right frame of the printer, install the washers on both CR Guide Shafts.
7. Remove the gear in the middle of the CR Scale Mounting Plate Assy, and install the
CR Scale Mounting Plate Assy on the printer. (See Figure 4-54)
Install the parts on each of the CR Guide Shafts in the order of the coned disc spring →

washer → PG Cam → retaining ring.
9. Insert a pin and align the holes in the following parts: (See Figure 4-55)
• PG Cam
• CR Scale Mounting Plate
• Printer Frame
10. Install the central gear and fix it in place with the retaining ring.
11. Set the retaining rings (x2) on both CR Guide Shafts, and install the CR Scale Spring.
