11 Using the Recovery Tool

11.1 Main Screen

The Access to the Recovery Tool is password protected.
After the Columbus Recovery Tool is loaded you will see the main screen where you can select and
start the different functions via a touch on the specific button.

1. Check and Repair Disk – By pushing this button the system starts to run checkdisk.
Checkdisk will check the consistency of the SSD and also the Windows filesystem. It can
happen that Windows itself will create a failure in the Windows filesystem and that Windows
will not start. Checkdisk will analyze this failure and fix this failure in the most cases.
2. Save or Load Image –This opens the dialog screen for the Backup and the Recovery
function.
3. Change Settings – Via a touch on this button the screen for changing the settings opens.
The following parameters can be modified:
4. Shutdown or Reboot – Opens the shutdown and reboot screen
