The copier monitors the movement of copy paper
using the following three sensors:

about ten minutes after the front cover is opened,
The microprocessor holds the following five jam
detection sequences and, further, it identifies a jam
if paper is detected at time of power-on.
When the copier identifies a jam, it immediately
stops operation and cuts out power to the fixing
heater (HI); at the same time, it flashes the 'JAM'
indicatoron the control panel, indicating the location
of the jam.
No count is taken for jams which activate these
mechanisms.
