5.1.6 Replacing the Glass or the Glass Gasket

The glass used in the Stratford CF is 5 mm thick of dimension: 791 mm 438 mm and tested to reach
temperatures up to 760 °C. If the glass breaks, it must be replaced with one having the same specification.
Contact your Osburn dealer to obtain a genuine replacement part (see "replacement parts", in appendix to
get the proper part number).
WARNING: TEMPERED GLASS OR ORDINARY GLASS WILL NOT WITHSTAND THE HIGH TEMPERATURES OF
THE STRATFORD CF.
WARNING: DO NOT ABUSE THE GLASS DOOR BY SLAMMING IT AGAINST THE ZERO CLEARANCE WOOD
INBUILT.
WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE ZERO CLEARANCE WOOD INBUILT WITH A CRACKED OR BROKEN
GLASS.
In order to replace the glass, use the following procedure;
1. Remove the door from its hinges and lay it on a flat surface.
2. Remove the upper glass retainer (A) and the lower glass retainer (B) held in place by the screw (C).
3. Remove glass (D).
4. Repeat the steps in reverse order to install the new glass.
