Product overview

This chapter introduces basic information about the MSG1200 in aspects of the characteristic
and network application, including the following sections:

1.1 Introduction

The MSG1200 is an access-type network product designed for Small Office/Home Office
(SOHO). Integrated with route, switching, bandwidth access, Wireless Access Point (WAP),
and voice features, it facilitates deploying multiple services at a node when SOHO
applications increase continuously. Therefore, it provides an integrated solution for SOHO.
The MSG1200 provides the following functions:

Provide the 1000 Mbit/s SFP optical interface, EPON/GPON interface, 3G wireless
access, and GE electrical interface at the WAN side.
Provide Ethernet and WLAN access at the LAN side.
Support routing, bridging, Network Address Translation (NAT), Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and WAP, addressing need of basic access.
Support the voice feature.
Support access control, packet filtering, anti-DoS attack, and anti-scanning features,
prevent illegal packets attack, and provide system log.
Support remote management through TR069/Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP) and local Web configuration mode, helping the administrator manage and
configure devices.
