These switches come with the following common features:
‰ IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u compliant
‰ 16 or 24 auto-negotiating 10/100Base-TX ports
‰ RJ45 ports that can be connected/disconnected without powering off the
switch
‰ Store and forward switching at full-wire speed (14,880 packets per
second on 10 Mbps ports and 148,880 packets per second on 100 Mbps
ports)
‰ Media-dependent interface (MDI) push button setting for hub
connection or MDI-X push button setting for PC connection on
Port 16/24
‰ Support for up to 8K MAC addresses
‰ Internal power supply (100-120/200-240VAC) for AT-FS716 and
AT-FS724I, or external power adapter for AT-FS716E
‰ Desktop or rackmounting (rackmount option for AT-FS716 and
AT-FS724I only)
The switch models described in this guide complement the other Allied Telesyn
Fast Ethernet products, providing simple, cost-effective solutions for switching
between 10 and 100 Mbps. Easy to install, simply connect your 10Base-T or
100Base-TX station ports, and plug in the power.
Figures 1 show the front panel of the AT-FS716 switch. The AT-FS716E and
AT-FS724I front panels are similar.
