ADJUSTMENT AND CALIBRATION OF THROTTLE
BODY (MY13)
Checking engine during idle
The  engine control unit is designed to adjust the
torque issued by the engine during idle.
Set up the connection between the control unit and the
TEXA diagnostic software. With the engine warm and
the fans on, in idle, in neutral, observing the following
parameters through the diagnostic software within the
recommended intervals, you are able to control the
correct operation of the engine.
F4 - F4 R - F4 RR MY13 (Engine with water temperature > 90°C)
Engine rpm
Adaptive lambda check
Suction pressure
Engine load
Throttle capacity adaptability min - 2%
Operation outside of the recommended intervals is a
sign that the engine is not running correctly.
If the recommended intervals are not being main-
tained, it is a good idea to proceed with the following
checks in order to find the cause that is making the
engine operate outside of the intervals provided above:
- checking, with a diagnosis, the validated system
errors;
- checking the petrol pressure and making sure the
injectors are working;
- making sure the throttle body is working correctly;
- making sure the exhaust is working correctly (cor-
rect installation, holes, leaks, the state of the cata-
lyst, etc);
- checking engine phase;
- checking the levelling of intake manifold settings
Levelling of intake manifold settings
To check this, use a mercury vacuum gauge of the type
shown in the figure. Then, level the vacuum inside the
intake manifolds.
