15.2 MIDI CONNECTIONS USING THE [MIDI] CONNECTORS

You can use the [MIDI] connectors to connect the piano to other instruments equipped
with MIDI interfaces. To use the [MIDI] connectors, the [TO HOST] selector on the
connection panel must be turned to "MIDI".

15.2 MIDI CONNECTIONS USING THE [TO HOST] CONNECTOR
Since it has MIDI connectors, the instrument can also be connected to a computer.
However, in this case, a MIDI interface and both the MIDI [IN] and [OUT] connectors have
to be used. The [TO HOST] connector allows this connection to be made without having to
use this interface, by just connecting the piano connector to the computer connector.
Since both IBM-PC/AT
connections panel includes a [TO HOST] selector used to tell the piano what kind of
computer is being connected.
A computer allows you to use MIDI sequencing and editing and score printing programs,
and other musical applications.

COMPUTERS
Connect the [TO HOST] connector to the RS-232 serial port of the IBM-PC/AT
using an "8 pin MIDI DIN " 9 pin D-SUB" connector. Set the [HOST SELECT] selector on
"PC".

manuals.
