The Five Basic Parts
1.4 The Mouse
If you are using computer-aided design (CAD) applications with your
workstation, you may want to connect a dial box or a button box as a
pointing device. Connect these to the keyboard-mouse connector on the back of

the system unit.

1.5 Power Cord and Monitor Cable

The workstation comes with a power cord for the system unit and a power
cable that connects the monitor to the system unit.

Use the power cable to connect the monitor to the power outlet on the back
of the system unit.
Only one device can be connected to the outlet on the back of the
system unit. Do not use power cords to link devices together in a chain.
If your monitor is at a distance from the system unit, you may need to order a
longer power cord from Digital to connect the monitor to a wall outlet or power
strip. For more information about connecting a monitor at a distance from the
system unit, see ''Section 1.2.1'' on page 1-10.
