6.1 Storage Devices You Can Add to Your Workstation
A basic Personal DECstation system that includes internal drives will come
with one 426-megabyte internal hard disk drive and one extra density (2.8-
megabyte) internal floppy disk drive. You can expand your workstation storage
capacity by adding other drives to your system. These can be tabletop drives,
or they can be drives contained within an expansion box. For a list of the
drives that can be connected to your workstation, see Appendix F.
All external storage devices are connected either by means of the SCSI
connector on the back of the system unit or by means of a SCSI connector on a
TURBOchannel option module.

The system unit also has an internal SCSI connector to which the internal
hard disk drive is connected. (The internal floppy disk drive is not a SCSI
device.) For more information about connecting internal drives, see Chapter 9,
''Internal Storage Devices.''
