8-3 POWER TRIM AND TILT

POWER TRIM AND TILT UNIT

REMOVAL

Tilt engine fully up and lower the manual tilt lock levers
During the following procedures, firmly secure the
engine and support its weight. (see right)
Remove the tilt rod snap ring
shaft pin
out.
Lower tilt rod to full down position and disconnect the battery
cable.
Disconnect the PTT motor cable wire leads (G, Bl) from the
PTT relays.
Remove the PTT motor cable from engine lower cover.
Remove the two STBD motor mounting bolts
Loosen the clamp bracket shaft nut
NOTE:
Complete removal of the clamp bracket shaft nut is not required.
Nut should be loosened as far as the end of the shaft threads
only to facilitate removal of the PTT unit.
