TROUBLESHOOTING

ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM

A weak or missing spark might be a symptom of:
1) incorrect connections in the electrical system;
2) faulty spark plug or wrong heat rating or incorrect spark plug gap (see para-
graph "Spark plug");
3) faulty ignition coil (see paragraph "Checking coil windings resistance");
4) faulty spark plug cap (see paragraph "Checking coil windings resistance").

Positioning the connector/Securing the wiring harness (CR)

- Generator connector (1) located under the fuel tank near the coil.
- Electronic control unit connector (2) located on the left side of the chassis,
secured to a special bracket.

- The wiring harness is secured to the chassis with clamps (3); The engine
stop button wiring harness is secured to the handlebar with rubber clamps
(4).

Connectors positioning (WR)

- Voltage regulator to interface connector (1).
- Main wiring harness interface connector (2).
- Transducer connector (3).
