Defining the FLX-60 pixel pitch
Pixels, pitch and power cables
The maximum number of FLX-60 pixels that can be addressed via one output port of the FLX-HUB is 256. However, the number
of FLX-60 pixels that can be connected to one output port of the FLX-HUB depends also on the power consumption of the FLX-60
pixel and the voltage losses over the power cables, extension cables and connector strings. So, the restrictive parameters for the
maximum number of FLX-60 pixels per output port of the FLX-HUB are:
1.
The cable pixel pitch. This is the length of the cable between two sockets for FLX-60 pixels.
2.
The total length of power cables used between the FLX Power System DPR-2700 and the FLX-HUB.
3.
The total length of FLX-HUB output extension cables.
4.
The calibration status of the FLX-60 pixels. Calibrated = 1,9Watt/FLX-60 pixel. Not calibrated = 2,7Watt/FLX-60 pixel.
Take these parameters into account when creating customized FLX-60 connectorstings.
Use the following "Cable pixel pitch" charts (image 4-2 and image 4-3) to determine the maximum number of FLX-60 pixels per
output port of the FLX-HUB.
