Gamma
The transfer characteristics of most cameras and displays are nonlinear. For a display, a small change in amplitude
when the signal level is small produces a change in the display brightness level, but the same change in amplitude at a
high level will not produce the same magnitude of brightness change. This nonlinearity is known as gamma. Different
gamma curves are available to compensate the nonlinearity.

3. Components of an FLX display system
At the left bottom of the menu the address number is displayed of
the FLX-NNI Controller. Other important messages may appear
instead of the address number such as ! NO SYNC !
Via this menu you can select and set the pattern, contrast or
gamma for this FLX-NNI Controller unit and all downstream
FLX-NNI Controller units in the system.
TIP: Use the first FLX-NNI Controller unit in the stream to set
the pattern, contrast or gamma.
This menu allows you to activate one of the test patterns for this
FLX-NNI Controller unit and all downstream FLX-NNI Controller
units in the system.
The arrow ▼, in the lower right corner, which is pointing
downwards indicates that the list is longer than the LCD display.
Use the navigation buttons to scroll down to see the next items in
the list. An arrow ▲ in the upper right corner will appear.
The last item in the list is 'Back' which can be used to go to the
previous menu.
Note that the Patterns menu does not automatically return to the
root menu after 30 seconds of inactivity.
This menu allows you to adjust the contrast of this FLX-NNI
Controller unit and all downstream FLX-NNI Controller units in the
system. The path at the right side shows the current contrast
value.
The contrast can be adjusted between 0 and 255 in steps of 1 or
10. Select 'Full' to set the contrast immediately to 255 and select
'Nill' to set the contrast to 0.
This menu allows you to select and activate a gamma curve
for this FLX-NNI Controller unit and all downstream FLX-NNI
Controller units in the system. Use the navigation buttons to
select one of the predefined gamma curves and press the enter
button (center button) to activate the gamma curve.
