Processing Lettermail With the Optional Scale

The machine has two optional scale configurations:
• 1 kg weight capacity - recommended for users whose mail consists
primarily of Lettermail
• 2.5 kg weigh capacity - recommended for users who send Letter-
mail and Parcels
This procedure is used for processing Lettermail (mail pieces weighing
between 1 gram and 500 grams whose dimensions fall within the Let-
termail classification) when you have the optional scale attached. You
cannot enter a postage amount using the keypad for any value within
the range of the Lettermail rate structure.
1. At the Home screen, place the mail piece on the scale.
2. Select the Canpost option, then select the Letter option. The
Canada Post letter classes and rates available for that mail piece
are shown, based on its weight. Press Page Down (if necessary)
to review the full range of class options.
3. Select the class option desired for your mail piece.
4. Select, if needed, any applicable special services (such as Regis-
tration) associated with that class option and select Done.
5. The internal rating feature calculates the total postage based on
the weight and the class/options selected and displays it on the
screen (an example is shown below):

move towards the right.
