External caller cannot find your extension in the Auto Attendant Directory.
Probable Cause
You have not recorded a
Personal Name.
Your system administrator has
not entered your first and last
name into the Extension List.
The external caller may not
be waiting long enough for
the search.
Call Appearance mode only — Call does not Auto Answer.
Probable Cause
The Deskset is set to Call
Forward All.
Direct Intercom is enabled
and only calls from certain
extensions are automatically
answered.
The Deskset is in DND mode.
Your Auto Answer delay is
greater than your
Call-Forward – No Answer
delay.
Ring Group calls cannot be
automatically answered.
Line Appearance mode only—Call does not Auto Answer.
Probable Cause
The Deskset is in DND mode.
Troubleshooting
Corrective Action
Record a name at the Deskset. Press MENU –> 2
–> 5 (Call Appearance mode) or MENU –> 2 –>
4 (Line Appearance mode) to record a Personal
Name to be played to callers.
Consult your system administrator.
Tell callers that after spelling the name, they can
press the pound (#) sign to start the search.
Corrective Action
Deactivate Call Forward All. On the Idle screen,
press

Ask your system administrator to disable Direct
Intercom, then enable Auto Answer on your
Desket. On the Deskset, press MENU –> 2 –> 3.
Deactivate DND. On the Idle screen, press

DND
Adjust the Auto Answer delay. On the Deskset,
press MENU –> 2 –> 3.
If your location has DID numbers, ask your system
administrator to assign a DID number to your
extension and ask people whose calls you want
auto answered to dial your DID number.
