Bearing race replacement steps:
o Remove the bearing race by hitting it on
several points.
oSet the bearing race.
oDrive in the bearing race evenly by hitting it
on several points.
eUnless the ball race is installed evenly, it
will damage the frame or steering
column.
eDo not hit the face of the ball race.
3. Inspect:
._-_, ®Steering column
,,_:_ ....._*-_,:_ ®Inner fork tube
_:;:_:_ .... Bends/Damage--* Replace.
..... :_ Do not attempt to straighten a bent fork
tube.
4. Measure:
_ _ • Fork spring free length
i _/ O_t of specification_ Replace.
Fork Spring Free Length (_):
Standard: 92 mm (3.62 in)
Limit: 87 mm (3.42 in)
