Setting Record Rules

When GPS is installed, the recorder collects GPS data—position and local time where the
data is recorded—along with audio and video.
To enable GPS data collection:

From the Camera Coverage, click Next. The GPS Summary displays.

Select the Record GPS data when a rule is active check box.
This box must be checked before the recorder can gather and record GPS data
when any rule is active. The recorder may take up to one minute to detect the GPS
unit and the GPS may take up to five minutes to acquire a signal.
After a successful installation:
The Status box displays the current status of the GPS unit. The three states are:
Detected with data
Detected with no data
GPS not detected
The Data area displays the current time and position:
Local time based on the PC time zone settings
Location (degrees, minutes and seconds for latitude and longitude)
Time and location information is updated once per second. This frequent
updating provides a visual confirmation that your GPS system is correctly
installed.
You can set up to nine record rules that define when recording takes place. Record rules
are based on a set of conditions, including:
Trigger status
Date and time
