Second and subsequent connection:
When the recorder displays in the Available Recorders list, click Connect to
establish a communication link.
Note
Windows XP may take up to 75 seconds before the recorder name displays in
the Available Recorders list. For example, when Windows XP detects that a
Local Area Network (LAN) connection has been made or lost (a network cable
has been unplugged) a message similar to A network cable has been
unplugged displays while Windows XP looks for the recorder connection.
Note
If the PC has a statically assigned IP address, the Toolbox and Player
applications may not be able to access the recorder.
Contact your IT network administrator to switch to dynamic
addressing in the network settings control panel. Please close the
Toolbox or Player application prior to making any changes.

If password protection has been previously enabled, you will be prompted to log in

Note
The HTRD400 Recorder is shipped with password protection disabled by
default. To enable or change passwords, see
Passwords
on page 69.

After a successful login, the recorder name displays in the Available Recorders area
on the Toolbox Main Menu or the Recorders tab on the Explorer Pane of the Player.
The Configuration tab shows the current configuration of the connected recorder.

When you have finished using the Toolbox or Player application, click Disconnect to
end the session with the recorder.
