8. Pressing the '4' key during the 'walking LED' test will initiate the EEROM status / clear test. An EEROM chip test
will be performed and the status of the non-volatile memory chip will be displayed in the VF message center.
a. All LS9500 Stairclimbers require some means of saving machine usage data even when AC power is
Removed. This is achieved through the use o non-volatile memory (EEROM) chip. All critical data is
periodically saved in this EEROM chip. After a power interruption the critical data contained in the EEROM
chip is restored for use and updates.
b. All machine usage and option setting data is recorded in the first available storage area until the write
cycle count for that page has been exceeded. All data is then automatically transferred to the next
storage area. This process will continue until all available 'pages' have been used.
c. Only two EEROM chip failures are currently identified.
EEROM FAILURE 1 – EEROM memory chip data cannot be read on unit power-up.
EEROM FAILURE 2 – All pages of the EEROM memory chip have been exhausted.
d. If the EEROM chip failure 2 is detected, pressing the 'CLEAR' key while the error message is displayed on
the message center will initiate a general reset and re-initialization of the EEROM chip.
e. If the unit contains a functional EEROM chip, the test will proceed to the next phase. Here the user has the
option to clear all the data stored in non-volatile and is prompted with the following message:
f.
Press the 'START/ENTER' key will clear all machine data stored in non-volatile (EEROM) memory and
verify the operation. All the machine option setting are initialized as per dipswitch (U27). The results of the
operation are then announced on the VF display through one of the following messages:
g. Pressing any other key (except 'CLEAR') will restart the EEROM status / Clear test.
Pressing the 'CLEAR' key will exit the EEROM status / Clear test and return the unit to the 'walking LED'
