Adjusting rear shock absorber spring preload
Danger
Danger of accidents The shock absorber is under high pressure.
The shock absorber is filled with highly compressed nitrogen, so never dismantle the shock absorber or carry out any main-
tenance on it yourself.

Danger of accidents Do not make any radical changes to the adjustment of the shock absorbers.
Make adjustments in small steps only.

Increasing the spring preload raises the center of gravity of the vehicle. This can have a large impact on vehicle handling.
Tip
Before changing the spring preload, make a note of the present setting, e.g., by measuring the length of the spring.

Remove the rear shock absorber.
After removing the shock absorber, clean it thoroughly.
Loosen the lock nut
available from an authorized KTM workshop.

Turn adjusting ring until the spring is no longer under tension.

Measure the overall spring length when not under tension.

is unloaded and when it is installed.
Tighten the spring by turning adjusting ring to measurement .
