Extension Programming

These are the programming options when "Extensions" is selected in the system main programming menu.

Assigning Extension Names

You can assign names to extensions. When an extension receives an internal call, its display will show the
calling extension name in the place of the calling extension number.
1. From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3. Select "System Programming".
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
5. Select "Name Programming".
6. From the extension menu, select the extension you want to name and enter the name. Up to ten characters
(including spaces) can be entered for each name.
7. When the name is entered, select "Confirm". You will be presented with the extension menu and can
continue programming other names.
To Restrict Outgoing Calls during the Day
With this feature, you can assign the extensions to a Class-of -Service that will operate when the system is in
"Day Service". Default programming has, all extensions are in class 1.
1. From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3. Select "System Programming".
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
5. Select "Restriction Classes".
6. Select "Day Class of Service".
7. Select the class you want to assign to the extensions, (class 1 – class 6).
8. Select the extensions to be entered in this class.
NOTE: When an extension is selected for class 1, 2 or 3, it will be automatically removed from other classes
(except class 5 and 6).
To Restrict Outgoing Calls during the Night
With this feature, you can assign the extensions to a Class-of -Service that will operate when the system is in
"Night Service". Default programming has, all extensions in class 1.
1. From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3. Select "System Programming".
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
5. Select "Restriction Classes".
6. Select "Night Class of Service".
7. Select the Class you want to assign to the extensions, (Class 1 – Class 6).
8. Enter the extensions to be entered in this class.
NOTE: See the Class Service Table programming which programs the codes that are restricted in each Class on
page 77.
Tone Protection
Extensions can be presented with call waiting indication if they are on a call and another external call rings their
telephone. On a Feature Phone the display indicates on the top line that the call is waiting. A call waiting tone can
also be presented. By default all extensions, except extension 20, are protected against receiving Call Waiting
tones.
