Programming Caller ID Detection
On standard CO lines on the Mitel 3000, the "Caller ID Detection" option is programmed. The system can then
detect when Caller ID information is being sent from the network and display the number.
1. From the Programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3. Select "System Programming".
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select "Lines".
5. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "PSTN Programming" is displayed.
6. Select "PSTN Programming".
7. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "Caller ID Detection" is displayed.
Select "Caller ID Detection" The lines with "Caller ID Detection" programmed are indicated with a "♦".
Press the speakerphone key to finish programming.
NOTE: For this feature to operate Caller ID needs to be enabled by your telephone company.
Programming the Name of a CO Line (Line Name Programming)
This feature allows a PSTN line to present a name of the line to an extension. When a call is presented to an
extension on that line the top line of the display will read "Call for XXX", where XXX is the name Programmed
for that line.
From the Programming Extension, press the PROGRAM Key
Press the Scroll Down Key ( ) until 'System programming' is displayed
Select 'System programming'
Enter the System Programming Password
Select 'Lines'
Press the Scroll Down Key ( ) until 'PSTN programming' is displayed
Select 'PSTN programming'
Press the Scroll Down Key ( ) until 'Line Name' is displayed
Select 'Line Name'. All the available Analogue lines will appear on the screen
Select the required line and enter the name as required.
Press the speakerphone key to finish programming.
Turning on the 'Line Name' feature
From the Programming Station, press the PROGRAM Key
Press the Scroll Down Key ( ) until 'System programming' is displayed
Select 'System programming'
Enter the System Programming Password
Select 'System'
Press the Scroll Down Key ( ) until 'Present Line Name' is displayed
Select 'Present Line Name'. A ♦ diamond indicates the feature is enabled.
Press the handsfree key when finished.
Programming Dial Tone Detection
When a CO line is selected to make a call the system detects the dial tone on the line before it sends the digits.
You can change this operation so that dial tone detection is turned off and the system will send digits to the line
as they are dialed. When dial tone detection is set on, and no dial tone is present on the line, the display will show
"Line Disconnected" if an attempt is made to select the line.
If dial tone detection is turned off the line will be connected and digits dialed whether dial tone is present or not.
1. From the Programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3. Select "System Programming".
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select "Lines".
5. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "PSTN Programming" is displayed.
6. Select "PSTN Programming".
