switches. The Summit X460, X480, and X650 series switches have replaceable power supplies; redundant
external power supplies are available for the other Summit series.

Overview

Summit family switches are shipped with an internal power supply (replaceable on the Summit X460,
X480, and X650 series switches) that supplies all of the power needed for most switch operation. An
optional redundant power supply can be added to most Summit models to protect against a power
supply failure and to provide increased support for PoE operation on applicable switches.
Table 28 lists the compatible power supply models for the Summit family switches that use external
power supplies for redundancy. In the Summit X460, X480, and X650 series switches, redundancy is
provided by installing a second internal power supply.
