Adjusting
the sound
(cont.,)
The "Speaker"
function
allows you to play the TV_s sound through
the internal
speaker
or the external
speakers.
• Choose "Internal"
if you want to play the T_s
sound through
the TV's built-in
speaker.
• Choose "External"
if you connected
speaker,'; to the speaker
terminals
on the rear of the TV, or if you want to play the sound
of your TV through
an audio system.
The "Monitor
out" function
determines
how the TV will send an
audio signal to an audio system
or home theater
receiver.
Your
choices are '_v'ariable " or "Fixed."
• If you choose "Fixed,"
the TV will send out an audio signal
at a
fixed volume level. The level will not change
when you adjust
the TV's volume.
Use the controls
on your audio system to
adjust
the volume.
The "Fixed" setting
is mo,;t useful when you
can control
the audio system's
volume with a remote control.
• If you choose '_Variable,"
the T_c's audio output
will change
when you change
the TV's volume.
If you use this setting
with
an audio system,
turn
the TV's volume
all the way down, set the
audio system's
volume to an average
setting,
then turn the TV's
volume up until you can hear the signal.

adjusting
the audio
functions
When adjusting
the audio
functions,
you can use the buttons
on the remote
control or on the
control
panel.
Press the AUDIO button
repeatedly
until the function
you want to adjust
appears
on-screen.
(The functions
appear
at the center of the
bol;tom of the screen.)
While the function
is still on the
screen,
use tlhe ADJUST
buttons
to adjust
the function's
setting.
The functions
will disappear
from the screen .after a few
seconds.
(You cannot
adjust
a
function
if it is not on the
screen.)
