Installing the LocalTalk/Serial module

Note:
When using the module in LocalTalk mode, you should remove the
Ethernet interface connector. For instructions on how to remove the
connector, see "Installing a Type-B interface card," steps 1 to 4, on
the next page.
1. Perform steps 1 to 6 in "Installing a memory module," page
3-16, to access the printer's SIMM SLOT.
2. Select one of the following interface settings: RS-232C type
serial interface, current loop type serial interface, or
LocalTalk interface, using a jumper switch and the two
slide switches on the module. The default selection is
LocalTalk. If you want to select the serial interface settings,
change the jumper and the two slide switches to the serial
interface positions as shown below.
Note:
Make sure both slide switches are set to the same position;
otherwise, the printer will not operate correctly.
