Configure and Enable Call Home

To establish the Cisco Smart Call Home service, there are certain steps that must be peformed to
configure and enable the Call Home feature on the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Router.
The CiscoTAC-1 profile is predefined in the Call Home feature to communicate using email to the
backend server for the Smart Call Home service. The URL to the Cisco HTTPS backend server is also
predefined. This profile is inactive by default.
However, unlike other profiles that you can configure in Call Home to support both transport methods,
the CiscoTAC-1 profile can only use one transport method at a time. Therefore, to use this profile with
the Cisco Smart Call Home HTTPS server, you must change the transport method from email to HTTP
and enable the profile. In addition, you must minimally specify a contact e-mail address and enable the
Call Home feature.
