Copier/Printer Troubleshooting

This section describes the solutions for problems which may arise with the copier/
printer.
Nothing is displayed on the control panel.

Follow the instructions provided on the touch screen when error messages display on
the control panel.
Is the scanner power cord connected?
Plug in the power cord firmly to reconnect the scanner.
Are the power switches (two locations) switched on?
Switch on the power switches.
Is the control panel contrast setting too dark?
Adjust the contrast dial.
Refer to "1.5 Copier Control Panel" for details on the contrast
dial.
Is the scanning area or platen roller dirty?
Clean the scanning area.
Does the document being scanned have a high level of
transparency?
Adjust either the image density setting or the background
suppression setting.
Is the document printed on colored paper, rough paper, or
blueprint paper?
Adjust either the image density setting or the background
suppression setting.
Refer to "3.8 Image Density" and "3.9 Background Suppression"
for details on image density and background suppression.
Has the image density been set too dark?
Decrease the image density setting. If the condition does not
improve, contact your Service Representative.
