This section describes the optional items that are available for this
printer: manual feed unit, duplex unit, 5-bin mail-bin, 500-sheet
paper feed unit, 250-sheet paper feed unit, 2500 sheet tray (LCC),
10-bin mail-bin, SIMMs, network interface card, Adobe PostScript
SIMM and hard disk drive.
Caution
• Removing any screws other than those specified in this manual may
result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Installing the Duplex Kit
The duplex kit consists of the manual feed unit and the duplex unit.
The manual feed unit must be installed before installing the duplex
unit. The following sections describe the installation procedure for
both components.
Installing the Manual Feed Unit
The manual feed unit allows you to print on paper that is fed directly
into the printer, one sheet at a time. The use of this optional feature is
recommended whenever you are printing on unusually delicate paper
that requires special handling.

Remove the manual feed unit from its carton and remove its pro-
tective, plastic covering.

Remove all of the protective shipping foam and tape from the
unit, including the plastic covering that protects the connector
cord.

Turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord and interface
cable from the printer.
