Automatic Tray Setting

Automatic Tray Setting
If you select
AUTO
for the paper source setting, the printer will automatically search all
paper trays for the required paper size. The paper source is selected in
the order of Priority Source, Tray1, Tray 2, Tray 3, Tray 4, Tray 5 and
LCC. For more information, see Chapter 4.
The Priority Source can be customized through the System Menu of
the printer's control panel.
If the currently selected tray runs out of paper and there is another tray
loaded with paper of the same size, the printer automatically switches
to that tray to permit an uninterrupted print cycle.
The automatic tray switching feature does not support the following
trays;
• A tray that is selected in the CASSETTE LOCK item of the SYS-
TEM MENU
• Trays that are designated for special-paper types
• Paper that is fed from the manual feed unit
Follow the instructions below to enable
1. Press the On Line key to take the printer offline.
2. Press the Menu key to display
3. Press the Item key repeatedly until
4. Press the Select key repeatedly until
Enter key.
Useful Tips
High volume printing
• This feature allows you to make up to 3,750 continuous prints of the
same size using Tray1, Tray 2, the optional 500-sheet trays (Tray 3),
and the optional 2500 sheet tray (LCC).
