Possible Cause(s)
A supported SCSI host
adapter is not installed,
or if installed is not
working properly.
An unexpected,
temporary problem
occurred with the
Scanner that is
preventing the retrieval
of an image when you
click the button.
An unexpected problem
has developed with the
Scanner software.

acquire PreScan image"

Suggested Solution(s)
If necessary have a technician
install a supported host adapter.
(Refer to "Required Hardware," in
Chapter 6.)
If problems persist, have a
technician verify that the host
adapter is properly installed and
is not faulty, and then try again.
If necessary, have the technician
repair or replace the adapter.
Try the operation again; if the
message reappears shut down the
computer system, restart, and try
again.
If the steps suggested just above
do not resolve the problem,
reinstall the Scanner software as
described in Chapter 3
(Macintosh) or Chapter 7 (PC),
and try again.
