I/O Communication Error History Monitor

Function Overview
Checking Using the
GRT1-PRT DTM

The PROFIBUS Communication Unit can record the 64 most recent internal
SmartSlice Communication Unit errors in the Unit's error history. When more
than 64 errors occur, the oldest entry is deleted to make space for the newest
error entry. The communication error history can be read from the GRT1-PRT
DTM or via messaging services.

To check the internal communication error history using the GRT1-PRT DTM
and OMRON's FDT Container Cx-Profibus, perform the following actions.
1. Turn ON the PROFIBUS Communication Unit's power supply.
2. In Cx-Profibus right click the mouse over the icon of the GRT1-PRT, and
select Diagnosis.
3. Select the I/O Unit Error History Tab in the Diagnosis Window. The com-
munication error history for the most recent errors that occurred will be dis-
played, as shown in the following window. To display the most recent error
history, click the Update Button.
Note The method described is also available in third party FDT Containers,
although slightly different terminology may be used in the menus.
