4. Pull the lift lever for the cutting deck rearward to lift
up the cutting deck.
5. Turn the ignition key to the STOP position.
6. When the product stops, apply the parking brake.
To apply and release the parking brake
1. Press the parking brake pedal down (A).
2. Press and hold the lock button (B).

3. Keep the button pressed and release the parking
brake pedal.
4. To release the parking brake, press the parking
brake pedal again.
To get a good cutting result
• For best performance, do maintenance on the
product regularly as given in the maintenance

schedule. Refer to
24 .
• Do not cut a wet lawn. Wet grass can give a bad
cutting result.

• Start with a high cutting height and decrease it
gradually.
• Cut with blades that rotate at high speed (highest
permitted engine speed, refer to
page 54 ). Move the product forward at low speed.
If the grass is not too high and thick, you can get a
good cutting result also at a higher speed.
• Cut the grass in an irregular pattern.
• To get the best cutting result, cut the grass
frequently and use the mulch function.
To disengage the hydrostatic
transmission
To move the product with the engine off, you must
open the hydraulic circuits on the front and the rear
transmission. This is done by opening the bypass valves
in the transmission motors.
CAUTION:
when the bypass valves are open. The
bypass valves must be closed before you
operate the product.
CAUTION:
high speed or for long distances. This will
cause damage to the transmissions.
Rear transmission
• To open the bypass valve, open the locknut (A) ¼–½
turn counterclockwise and then the valve screw (B) 2
turns counterclockwise.
• To close the bypass valve, close the valve screw (B)
and tighten to 8 Nm and then tighten the locknut (A)
to 30 Nm.
