Begin the vent system installation by selecting the type of venting
to be installed and the path it will take. Verify clearances are met
throughout the path of the venting system.
Determine how the vent system will be terminated: out the
side of the house or through the roof. Verify clearances for the
termination.
When selecting a vent system for use with the fireplace, refer
to the Empire Comfort Systems Retail Price List for Simpson
Duravent part numbers and pricing. Check all clearances and
venting components. Identify if any problems exist in the vent
system.
Check pipe diameter on vent system and fireplace to verify the
size is the same.
NOTICE: All outer connection joints must be sealed with
aluminum tape, screws or silicone sealant rated above
300°F/149°C. The inner flue joints do not require any sealant.
