Installing the Power Vent
1. Attach the Dura-Vent adapter with the 4 #10 x 1/2 inch screws.
2. Use the remaining 8 #10 x 1/2 inch screws to attach the larger
Dura-Vent adapter pipe.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS ON FIREPLACE
All wiring should be done by a qualified electrician and shall be
in compliance with all local, city and state building codes. Before
making the electrical connection, make sure that the main
power supply is disconnected. The fireplace, when installed,
must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes, or
in the absence of local codes, with the National Electrical Code
ANSI/NFPA 70 (Latest Edition).
Locate the factory installed electrical junction box located on
the right side of the fireplace shown in the image below. Before
inserting the vent fan cable, unscrew the outer cover, feed the
cable through the cover, and attach the vent fan cable to the
appropriate location on the wiring block.
VENT FRAMING AND FINISHING
CAUTION
The supplied conduit and wires are common across other Empire
models . The pressure switch wires are not required for this
model.
On the Vent Fan end these pressure switch wires can be coiled
up and tucked out of the way or cut back.
Vent Fan End
Cut/Remove BROWN
and RED wires ONLY
At the fireplace end there is a large excess of wire length. The
white and black will have bare ends, the green a ring terminal,
and the red & brown will each have a wire connector attached.
Extend out the full length of the conduit so that as much of the
wiring is inside. Then Cut all the wires back to about 6" out from
the end of the conduit. Terminate the Black, White, and Green
wires with the supplied ring terminals and cut the Red and
Brown wires right back to the conduit entry (or remove them
completely) as they are not required
