Begin the vent system installation by selecting the type of venting
to be installed and the path that it will take. Verify that clearances
are met throughout the path of the venting system.
NOTICE: These fireplaces cannot be vented out the rear.
Determine how the vent system will be terminated out the side of
the house or through the roof. Verify clearances for the termination.
When selecting a vent system for use with the fireplace, refer to the
"Special Vent Systems" section below to determine what systems

Identify if any problems existing in the vent system.
NOTICE: All outer connection joints must be sealed with aluminum
tape, screws or silicone sealant rated above 300°F/149°C. The inner
flue joints do not require any sealant.
