Verify primary server operation

Approximate time estimate = 10 minutes
At this point, an upgraded system is running on the primary servers, and
the secondary servers and components are stopped. Verify that the new
system is operating correctly on the primary servers before upgrading the
secondary servers and components.

Install secondary Linux patches (if required)

Install Linux patches on all secondary servers.
Approximate time estimate = 10 minutes

Expand the folder for the specific network element you want to stop.
Click the NE Maintenance node.
Select an instance in the ACTIVE state and click the Stop button.
When the instance stops, the state changes to OFFLINE.
Action
Place CD_IBM306_MCS5100_Rel4.0_Linux_patch in the DVD-ROM
drive.
Log on to the server as root.
Run the patch script:
patchPlatform.pl
Select:
1 ==> Use an image burned to a CD.
Select:
5 ==> Print current patch chain (all applicable
patches).
