1000BASE-LX/1000BASE-LH Multi-Mode Optical Fiber Cable
(Core Diameter 10 µm)
This interface cable is used for an 1000BASE-LX (GBICB-LX) and 1000BASE-LH
(GBICB-LH) connection. The boundary with the network is the router's connector.
The maximum transmission distance between devices using a 1000BASE-SX
connection is 5 km if you are using an optical fiber cable which has the following
specifications:
Core/Clad: 10/125 µm (wavelength: 850 nm)
The maximum transmission distance between devices using a 1000BASE-LH
connection is 550 m if you are using an optical fiber cable which has the following
specifications:
Core/Clad: 10/125 µm (wavelength: 1550 nm)
Figure 3-19 below shows the diagram of the 1000BASE-LX/1000BASE-LH
multi-mode optical fiber cable.
